Health Evaluation of Workers Exposed to Lead Using THI(Todai Health Index) Questionaire

Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the health status of industrial workers from March ito Septem~ber 30, 1995. It also provides supporting data for these industrial workers¡¯ health management. The data was obtained from a sample of rnanufac~turing industry¡¯s lead?workers and non lead?workers in Sungdongku and Kangdongku area by using
THI(Todai Health Index).
The results were summarized as follows:
1. The responses of psychosomatic complaints of workers exposed to lead were much higher than non?lead exposed workers, especially ~n the reponse of SUSY, but not for the reposnses to EYSK, MENT, DEPR, AGGR and NERV(P(0.05). The responses of psychosomatic complaints in the RESP were higher in lead male workero than in lead female workers.
2. The responses of psychosomatic complaints in the AGGR for unmarried non lead workers were higher than those in married non lead workers. In the NERV, married lead workers¡¯ responses were higher than those in unmarried lead workers.
3. The responses of psychosomatic complaints by sex were higher in female than in males, especially in the response of SUSY.
4. The responses of psychosomatic complaints by smoking status indicate that the highest number of complaints were recorded from emoking ~workers who smoke over 20 cigareets a day.
